On October 7, 2015, Plumb Elementary PTA will help promote safety and health by sponsoring Plumb Elementary School’s participation in the International Walk to School Day.
“International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October.” (from their website information)
Parents, please walk to school with your student(s), or ride your bike(s), and meet as at the PE shelter for a healthy treat! Let’s all help promote safety and exercise by following the rules while we walk or bike to school.
Walkers will be gathering at Central Christian Church on Keene Rd and Lakeview at 7:45 a.m. We will walk from there to school with a motorcycle escort, generously provided by the Clearwater Police Department! Parents, the church has graciously allowed us to use their parking lot, so feel free to park there and join us on the walk!
Don’t forget to come to the covered PE Court for a healthy treat!
Volunteers please meet at the PE shelter at 7:30 a.m. Thank you for your help!
