Happy November Plumb Families! I hope everyone is having a great school year so far! For me it has been fun, frustrating, exhausting, and fulfilling all wrapped up in one big, crazy roller coaster ride!
Our first MOVIE NIGHT was held on Friday, October 24 and was an awesome success! We had a whopping 230 people RSVP and around 170 came for a screening of “Rio 2” under the stars! We had pizza, popcorn and a big screen TV. The weather was beautiful and it was a great night to kick back, watch a movie and get to know other Plumb families! Check out our Facebook page for pictures from the event. It was so much fun that (if our Carnival does well) you just might see another one in the Spring!
Speaking of Carnival, as I mentioned last month, our Fall Carnival has been moved to a WINTER CARNIVAL! Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 7th. The Plumb Carnival is our second major fundraiser of the year. We raise most of our funds through our CLASS AUCTION BASKETS. We are asking each classroom to work together to donate a themed basket to our auction. Please look for more information in this newsletter with some great tips for creating a class basket and who to contact with questions. We also need help with coordinating several of the venues.
ALSO – Friday evening, February 6th will mark the return of the SPAGHETTI DINNER! The PTA would like to extend a big thank you to Mrs. Kemp and the Plumb Teachers and Staff for stepping up to bring this tradition back. I can’t even tell you what a positive change I think this is going to be.
But even BEFORE that happens, Friday, November 7th will be our REFLECTIONS PROGRAM AWARD CEREMONY & RECEPTION. We are still in need of a few volunteers to help set up and serve at the ceremony. Please refer to the Sign Up Genius that was sent out to registered volunteers and posted on our Facebook page to see how you can help celebrate the students creative work.
CHICK FIL-A SPIRIT NIGHT will be Thursday, November 20! Make sure you stop by, mention Plumb Elementary and spin the Wheel of Chicken to win coupons and prizes! Hope to see you there!
I really hope the families of Plumb Elementary have been happy with the events the PTA has put on so far this year. We are always open to new suggestions and are always looking for new faces to help! In addition to help with Carnival, we are still in need of a Treasurer and a Spirit Night Chair. If you would like to help in either of these areas or in any other function, please contact me at PlumbPTAPresident@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
