We know that many members of the community want to get more involved with the Plumb Elementary PTA, but do not know where to start. Knowing this, we provide a brief overview here of some of the opportunities available to you.
This is often the first step in becoming more involved in our PTA. By becoming a member of our PTA, you are giving yourself a voice. Your voice allows you to shape the way we operate as a PTA. Your voice can help select the programs we offer to the community. Your voice can help select the elected officers of the PTA. Your voice can help determine how we raise and spend funds within our PTA. This opportunity has minimal time requirements as most of your involvement is centered around participating in the General Meetings, which will be held on the third Tuesday during the school year. Look at the monthly Newsletter for exact dates.
Perhaps you are looking for a more active role? Volunteering is for those within the community who have a few hours, typically 2-4 per month, to work within the PTA. Perhaps you are interested in volunteering for Carnival. Perhaps you are interested in a Committee Chair position on the Executive Board. Perhaps you want to participate in our Campus Cleanup Day. Perhaps you are only able to volunteer at night by sending emails out to local businesses. Whatever your service may be and whatever amount of time you may have to give, there is a place for you in this PTA!
