The Plumb PTA February "FUN FEST" is the largest fundraiser each year! The year 2014 was special, because it was the 40th Anniversary of the Fall Carnival, and we treated it as such with an opening ceremony, returning dignitaries, and a Prince & Princess of the Carnival! In 2015, the name and date was changed to "Plumb PTA February "FUN FEST".
Over the years, it has taken approximately 200 volunteers to brainstorm, create, and work the Carnival. The "FUN FEST" Chair heads the "FUN FEST" planning committee, and recruits from interested parents, Plumb alumni, and community members. The committee members choose which venues they would like to take responsibility for, while the Chair coordinates the entire effort. He / She chairs the planning meetings, which start as early as possible..... sometimes even over the summer! There is much planning that must be done before the first nail is hammered into a board.
After the brainstorming and planning is completed, there is usually a "build" day, where the Chair is in charge of seeing that all of the venues are at least started, and most are either completed or well on their way to completion.
On "FUN FEST" Day, the Chair must be available and keep the wheels turning!
The "FUN FEST" Chair should:
be or become an active member of the PTA Board
be able to multi-task
have the time to devote to the meetings, phone calls, etc.
