On Friday, November 7, 2014, Plumb Elementary PTA hosted an Awards Ceremony at Plumb Elementary School to honor students for their imagination, creativity and interpretation of the theme “The World Would Be a Better Place If . . .” in the 2014-2015 National PTA Reflections Program.
The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in The Arts in an educational way. Through this Program, the National PTA, Plumb Elementary PTA and PTAs across the country urge students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice— Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts — reflecting on a specific theme. There is also a Special Artist division option for students with disabilities to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in the program. Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful.
Our evening began with a Reception and Art Exhibit featuring the student’s submissions for this year. We had 21 students offering 23 submissions for judging. Each submission was framed and mounted for exhibit, with their name, the category they entered, the title of the submission, and an excerpt from their artists' statement included. The Dance/Choreography and Film Production submissions were shown on the "big screen" for all to enjoy!
Next, the students, parents and guests were offered a rich variety of entertainment by local artists. All of these organizations donated their time and talents to entertain and educate, in support of our children’s efforts and their recognition in The Arts. Thank you, again, to each and every one!
Ricky Roberts III “You Are Valued”;

Our independent judges also donated their time and expertise as they reviewed each submission, offered comments on the work, gave advice on areas they saw that could improve next time, and assigned individual scores. We appreciate their contribution to these students' lives and artistic futures! Our JUDGES were:
